William Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet Romeo and Juliet are destined lovers, unfortunately there is a predicament. Romeo is a Montague and Juliet is a Capulet. The Montagues and the Capulets are rivals. This causes untold problems for the two lovers and fate takes over. At the beginning of act3 scene 5, Romeo and Juliet have just spent the night together. Juliet is not sure if she will see Romeo again. She talks to Romeo. ‘Othin`st thou we shall ever meet again’. Romeo replies. ‘I doubt it not, and all these woes shall serve foe sweet discourses in our times to come’. Romeo does not want to go because he will do anything for Juliet. He is even ready to be killed for his love. This is ironic†¦show more content†¦Lady Capulet says ‘†¦traitor murderer lives’. She is explaining that Romeo is a traitor and he doesn’t deserve to be alive. Juliet agrees with her mother. ‘Ay madam, from the reach of these my hands would none but I might venge my cousins death’. Juliet’s words makes lady Capulet believe that Juliet has the same opinion as he but the audience know quite clearly that Juliet does not. In this scene many of then characters have different ways in which they speak. The words Romeo and Juliet use are similar to each other. They both mention two themes, love and death as they talk to each other. Shakspeare creates tension in the scene by using what the characters say. When you are watching the play, you always want to know what happens next because it is very interesting. Lady capullet says as she leaves ‘talk not to me, for I’ll not speak a word. Do as thou wilt, for I have done with thee’.This shows that lady Capulet has no feelings for Juliet because she says that she is done with Juliet and will disown her if she doesn’t do what she says. Lady Cpulet tells Capulet that Juliet refused to marry Paris. Infuriated, Capulet threatens to throw her out of the house if she does not change her mind. A hurdle is a dilemma between two or more people. This is happening in the hatred between the Montagues and Capulets. Juliet confinds in the nurse about her love for Romeo.
